January 20th: AR Birthday Lunch at Haven Ports Yacht Club: 12 for 12.30. Lunch and Talk by Victor Watson on "AR as a Children's Writer"  (Ted & Diana Evans 01394388295; e.f.evans@keele.ac.uk)

March 3rd: "
Ransome's Boats" (Juniors welcome!): Visit to Arthur Ransome's two boats wintering in Woodbridge (Nancy Blackett,  Lottie Blossom) with river trips on one of them (Ragged Robin - alias Lottie Blossom) if weather allows.  10 am to about 4 pm. Bring sandwich lunch; soup and drinks provided.  Treasure Hunt.  Tea in local cafe.  Contact Ted & Diana Evans (01394 388295; e.f.evans@keele.ac.uk).

March 31st
Literary Day. United Reform Church Meeting  Room, Whiting St, Bury St Edmunds IP33 1NR. 10 am to 4 pm. Bring packed lunch. Drinks and tea provided. Speakers: Robert Thompson, Brian Hammett.  Cost about £5 per head.  Book with William Lupton (01284 768648) by March 24th.

April 21st: "
Commander Walker Day" in Harwich Harbour.  Meet 12 pm at Shotley Marina. Bring packed lunch or lunch at the Shipwreck, Shotley Marina. Ferry to Harwich for guided tour of Harwich Redoubt. Return Ferry to Shotley for 5pm depart.  Cost about £5 adults; £3 children for ferry. Book with Ted & Diana Evans (01394388295; e.f.evans@keele.ac.uk) by April 14th

June 15-17th:
East Mersea Island Camp.  Tents provided: £40 full board (two nights); £36 for juniors. Activities including day sailing can be provided. Book with deposit of £20 (made out to TARS East) with John Holmes (01376 570982; john@fts.me.uk)

July 14,15th:
Swamazons Camp at Walton and Frinton YC with Nancy Blackett Trust and Old Gaffers Association. Swallows and Amazons Dinghy Race round Swallow Island; Treasure Hunt, Band.  Contact  the OGA organizer: Tessa Hodgkinson (01629 540601) to make bookings or for advice on B&Bs, camping etc.

July 28-31st:
Broads Half-week. 3 nights aboard 3 classics from the Norfolk Broads Y Co, Horning, sailing to Horsey Mere and back.  Cost about £140 pp; food extra.  Deposit of £70 (made out to TARS East) by July 14th to Judy Taylor (01536 481895; jmt@ecosse.net.

August 11th:
Oulton Broad Day.  Meet at 10.30 am at Northover Smiths'.  Bring packed lunch.  Tea provided. Organised by lan and Penney Northover Smith and Laurence and Christine Monkhouse. Booking: - Ian & Penney (01502 560926) by August 4th.

September 2nd:
Day Barge Trip on Sailing Barge Victor. Depart from Ha'penny Pier Harwich at  9 am, returning at 5 pm, aiming for Secret Water. £25 per head; lunch: £2-£5 extra. Book with full fee of £25 (made out to TARS East) with John Holmes (01376 570982; 07905 121848; john@fts.me.uk) ASAP.

September 30th: 
Broads Sailing Day From Martham Boat Yard, Martham.  Meet 9 a.m. Sail and raft up for lunch @ 1 p.m. Return to Martham by 4.30 p.m. Bring packed lunch and drink.   Hot drinks can be made on board. Cost about £20 per head; juniors £5. To book send deposit of £10 (made out to TARS East) to  Alan/Rosemary Garfitt (01353 720925; Garfitt@btopenworld.com) by 10th September; balance on day.

October 13th:
Eel Sett at Night. See and hear how the Thurne eels are traditionally netted and taste them, freshly cooked.  Meet at 6.30 pm at St Nicholas' Church, on the edge of Potter Heigham and then walk 1.5 miles to the River. Then we walk back to Potter at about 10pm. Cost £8 per adult and £5 for Juniors.  Pay on the night - or pay afterwards if you fail to turn up.  They can only take 16 of us.   Bring a small torch, warm clothes and stout shoes or boots.  Book directly with the Broads Authority:  Eilish.Rothney@broads-authority.gov.uk

November 10th: 
Regional AGM @ Pin Mill Sailing Club. Gather 11am onwards for coffee and chat. 12.15 pm Lunch at Butt & Oyster. 2 pm: Talk -  Brian Hammett: Following AR in the Baltic. 3.15 pm: Regional AGM; 4pm: Tea and Rattletraps.
