June 6th, 7th:: Swamazons 2009, Swamazons Camp at Walton and Frinton YC with Nancy Blackett, Ragged Robin and Old Gaffers Association. July 18th: Oulton Broad Day. Opportunity to sail your and other's dinghies. Meet at 10.30 am at Ian & Penney Northover-Smiths (5 Ice House Quay, Commodore Road, Oulton Broad, Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR22 3QU; 01502 560926) Bring packed lunch. Tea provided.
September 11th - 13th TARS National Literary Weekend, Kings College, Cambridge. See Spring Signals
September 27th: Broads Sailing Day From Martham. Meet 9 a.m. Sail and raft up for lunch @ 1 p.m. Return to Boat-yard by 4.30 p.m. Bring packed lunch, drinks, matches, cloth & tea-towel. Hot drinks can be made on board. Cost about £20 per head; juniors £5. October 3rd: Literary Afternoon on Missee Lee followed by optional Chinese Meal at a local restaurant. United Reformed Church Meeting Room, Whiting St, Bury St Edmunds IP33 1NR. 2 pm to 6 pm. Coffee, tea and biscuits provided. Cost about £10 per head; £5 for Juniors (neither includes Chinese!). Programme includes Andrew Craig-Bennett and Brian Hammett, and an opportunity for members to bring along their favourite books/passages. October 22nd: Eel Sett at Night. See and hear how the Thurne eels are traditionally netted and taste them, freshly cooked. Meet at 6.30 pm at St Nicholas’ Church, on the edge of Potter Heigham and then walk 1.5 miles to the River. Then we walk back to Potter at about 10pm. Cost about £10 per adult and £5 for Juniors.
